Job Description

If so, Foster Sullivan Group is just the team to join as a Commercial Lines Account Manager! You will be responsible for managing a distinct book of business and all of the service, processing, and relationship needs that arise from it. This position requires strong customer service skills and the foresight of customer needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists with and manages client relationships, treating each point of contact as a marketing opportunity
  • Informs and educates clients about coverages, exclusions and exposures
  • Provides technical support to Producers to help clients reach business goals
  • Prepares proposals and applications to submit to the carrier or the client
  • Explains audit procedures to clients and assumes primary responsibility for responding to audits with the carrier
  • Produces binders, certificates, policy documents and other related items accurately and on time
  • Handles cancellations and reinstatements based on service standards
  • Engages in cross-selling and referrals with the Personal Lines staff
  • Attends client renewal and check-in meetings with Producers for some clients
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends, new legislation, carrier information and agency management system technology to enhance knowledge base
Knowledge & Skills
  • Client facing role requires an extremely professional and polite attitude at all times
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of markets, trends, coverages and rating procedures
  • Communication skills needed to develop and maintain trusted relationships with carriers
  • Computer skill and expertise needed to effectively utilize the agency management system, carrier portals and rating platforms
  • Working knowledge or proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge or proficiency in Applied TAM is a bonus
  • Must be able to keep up with the fast-paced work environment and be able to multi-task between priorities
  • Must have superb communication and organizational skills
3+ years of a customer focused or facing role is preferred. We are willing to train an excellent candidate on industry specifics. Must have high school diploma, college degree is plus. Bilingual ability is high desirable, but by no means required.
